Hello, my name is Vickie Cruz. I am a native Texan and have lived in Fort Worth most of my life. I have been at Angel Montessori since 2007. I’ve always had a passion for education and in specific, the Montessori style of teaching and philosophy. From serving as a Toddler teacher to now center director, I’ve found that AMS is where I belong. There was even a time, I was able to co teach with one of my own daughters, which made the Angel Montessori experience worth it. After being the Transition teacher for over a year I was asked to help in the office giving me optimal insight to the business side of my educational passion. Merging those two experiences I have become what I am today. And as the old saying goes “the rest is history.”
My name is Ashton Guerra. I am a proud native of Fort Worth, TX, wife and mother to 2 incredible kids (Elliott 11 and Easton 8). I started at Angel Montessori in 2008 in the Toddler Class. I’ve worked in many classrooms to fulfill the needs of the school which prompted me to get Montessori certified. After having my oldest son, we saw the need for an infant room where he and I both started our infant journey together. Ever since, the babies have had a special place in my heart. As I could’ve moved to any other room, I stayed with the Infant Class and enjoyed that for many years. Last year I became the Infant Coordinator and this yea r the Teacher Coordinator. I am excited to navigate my new role and continue my legacy here at Angel Montessori.
We believe the goal of early childhood education should not be to fill your child with facts, but rather to cultivate your child’s own natural desire to learn. We offer a specifically planned, stimulating environment which affords children the opportunity to develop foundational habits, attitudes, skills, and ideas necessary for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning.
We are a small family owned and operated school located in the Historic Ryan Place Neighborhood. Angel Montessori is truly unique in the way where we take pride in enabling our students to discover their true potential.
With the Montessori advantage, our students are able to become more confident, more creative and better able to make their own independent choices – qualities which help lead to success in life.
Our Montessori classroom environment is a caring, sharing, peaceful and unhurried atmosphere. All of our classrooms are fully equipped with Montessori materials and certified and experienced teachers who respect every students’ needs and are dedicated to making a positive difference. Our students get to learn not only how to read and write, but they are also encouraged to think, communicate and express personal ideas all while responding creatively to challenges. We strive to promote an atmosphere where children can help and learn from each other.
The foundations built in our school through academics and social interactions will stay with our students throughout their lives. The purpose of our Montessori curriculum is to provide an environment designed to encourage each student’s independent efforts. We devote ourselves in helping each student build self-confidence and independence as we nourish the love of lifetime learning in them.
Here are just some of the wonderful things they had to say about their experiences at our school.
We have 2 kiddos at Angel (3.5 year old and a 5 month old). If I could give more stars I would! Our oldest is incredibly engaged and curious and comes home every day excited to tell us all about his day. We are constantly amazed by how much they instill a love of learning while keeping it fun. Our baby LOVES being dropped off and is all smiles, my heart is filled with joy knowing she is being cared for so well. Overall, the teachers at Angel love our kids and we could not ask for better partners in helping our kids grow and learn!
I have 2 children at Angel Montessori and our experience has been wonderful. It’s such a blessing to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. The teachers are very caring and nurturing, the facilities are awesome, and my kids come home happy! I love the flexibility and the amount of outdoor time — you really can’t get the same type of experience anywhere else.
Angel Montessori is a great SCHOOL with a neighborhood feel. I do not feel that this is a typical “daycare”. My daughter comes home learning something new everyday. The teachers are great!
5 stars or more!! We had moved from another country sometime back and my daughter was distraught and not happy with her current daycare. The way this school took her under their wings and nurtured her is unparalleled. A BIG thank you to the owner and all the teachers.

Every moment with our little ones is precious at Angel Montessori. Our Montessori environment for infants gives them the freedom to safely explore and learn through discovery. The setting is calm, inviting, and homelike, with soft rugs, a rocking chair, books arranged on low shelves and baskets filled with toys to meet their curiosity. In our infant environment, we provide care for infants 6 weeks to 17 months of age.
The infant environment is designed to meet each infant’s individual needs. Children under the age of one are free to sleep when they are tired and are fed when they are hungry. Around age one, the infant teacher begins to work with the parents to get the child on a regular eating schedule and ensure one nap per day to prepare the child for the Toddler classroom. They grow up too fast!
We believe that here, they are also able to develop long lasting relationships through music, movement, art, and much more. During this critical period, we assure that all care-givers are constantly working with the parents hand in hand to help the child feel as comfortable as possible. Each parent has access to a daily written report about their little one’s day as well as encouragement to help support the growth taking place.
We understand that having an infant be away from home does not come easy for any parent. However, we pride ourselves in providing a rich environment where they will develop new skills and development milestones, all while being loved and cared for!
Our Toddler classroom at Angel Montessori is a prepared environment for children 18 to 36 months. The classroom provides an environment that encourages them towards freedom and movement. We believe that through movement and exploration, toddlers are exposed to the broader world that helps them gain self confidence to engage in interactive play.
In our “home away from home” atmosphere, our Toddlers are offered lessons of practical life, pre-reading, pre-math and various other skills which lay the foundation for their pre-academic learning. Our Toddlers are provided with opportunities to learn through their experiences to help them with their self esteem, self worth, and self confidence.
Language development is crucial at this age. Our highly trained teachers offer many lessons involving language and encourage our little friends to use their words to communicate their needs and feelings.
Along with the development of language and social skills, Toddlers learn to care for themselves at this age. Toilet training is a part of this program and is achieved gradually as the younger students observe the older. Our teachers work in partnership with the parents to determine when the child shows readiness to begin the process. The goal of our Toddler program is to help our Toddlers become independent as they learn to take care of their basic personal needs.
We acknowledge that leaving a little toddler in the care of others is not an easy decision. At Angel Montessori, we strive to provide a feeling of safety, comfort, and community so that the parents can go about their day with full confidence that their child is being cared for, loved and educated while in our care.
The Angel Montessori School’s Primary Program is for students ages 3 years to 5 years old. This unique program is designed to take advantage of the sensitive period when students are able to absorb information from our enriched environment. The overall goal of this program is to support our students as they develop a sense of order, refine their coordination, expand their concentration, grow in independence and practice emerging problem-solving skills.
The students are provided with opportunities to work independently or have individual, small or large group lessons. They begin to learn how to manage their time and gain a sense of personal responsibility for everything that they set their minds to.
Our certified teachers encourage our students towards self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth. Each student is able to learn through hands-on exploration and develop an enthusiasm for learning, which is key for future academic success.
Along with developing their own self-awareness and independence, our students are also able to gain a sense of social awareness. Most importantly, we take pride in empowering each student to be an independent thinker, problem solver with grace and character development.
Not available to view our space in person just yet? No biggie! With times changing, we wanted to give you a way to view our classrooms from the comfort of your own home. Take a virtual walk through our facilities and see how we engage with our kids.

In the Montessori program, parent involvement is considered crucial.
Parents are the link between the home and the school. Our philosophy is to maintain continuity between the school and home through the participation of parents. We have multiple parent activities to build this continuity, including classroom observations, parent education events, holiday events, and parent-teacher conferences.
Parent involvement is greatly appreciated in our school community. We are grateful for the parental time that is donated to running and improving your child’s school.
Our teachers foster the desire to learn through the following areas:
In this area, children develop coordination and motor skills while experiencing everyday activities. They become confident while learning good work habits.
Since young children take in their world through their senses, this area helps children distinguish, categorize, and relate new information.
In the Montessori classroom, children learn the phonetic sounds of letters before they learn the alphabetical names in sequence. They are encouraged to explore books to find answers to their questions.
Since young children take in their world through their senses, this area helps children distinguish, categorize, and relate new information.
Children learn common land formations, such as islands and peninsulas. Large wooden puzzle maps are used for children to learn countries, climates, and products.
Math is learned through discovery rather than by verbal instruction. Children have tangible items to move as they learn to count. Montessori develops an early enthusiasm for the world of numbers.
